Trampolines and go-karts for ages 6 to 8

Six is where trampolines join the list. This page has 17 of them from €449, all 5 of our pedal go-karts, and the PlayBase climbing frames.

Where the ages come from: the go-kart ages are BERG's own guides. For trampolines, BERG's manual does not recommend its garden models for children under 6 and gives no age bands after that, so the trampolines here are our suggested starting points, chosen by one rule: sold with a safety net, and no longer than 11ft (330cm).

    Go-karts for ages 6 to 8 (5)Trampolines on legs with a net, 6.5ft to 11ft (9)In-ground trampolines with a net, up to 11ft (8)PlayBase climbing frames, ages 3 and up (4)

    Go-karts for ages 6 to 8

A child in this band fits more than one frame. BERG's guides are Buddy 3 to 8 years, Rally 4 to 12 years and XL 5 years to adult, and six to eight sits inside all three. The Buddy guide stops at eight, so for a seven or eight year old the Rally and XL have more years left in theirs. The go-kart buying guide compares the frames.

Trampolines on legs with a net, 6.5ft to 11ft

Our starting points, not BERG age ratings. These are the above-ground models from 6.5ft (200cm) to 11ft (330cm). Nothing is dug, and the safety net is part of every price.

In-ground trampolines with a net, up to 11ft

The same rule applied to trampolines set into the lawn. The mat sits low, with only a low edge showing above the grass. An installer, landscaper or builder does the groundwork. See in-ground or above ground before you decide.

    Showing 8 of 8.

PlayBase climbing frames, ages 3 and up

BERG rates the PlayBase for ages 3 and up. Swings, rings, a climbing wall and the like hang from the frame and can be swapped as the child gets older.

How we picked the trampolines on this page

BERG publishes age guides for its go-karts and none for its trampolines, beyond the manual's line about children under 6. So we had to choose, and we would sooner show the rule than hide it. For ages 6 to 8 we list every model that is sold with a safety net and is no longer than 11ft (330cm). That gives 9 on legs and 8 set into the lawn.

It is a place to start looking, nothing more. A bigger trampoline is not wrong for a seven year old if the garden has the room, and the ages 9 to 12 page starts where this one stops. If this is the first one you have bought, the first trampoline page narrows the list further.

Maximum user weights we can state

We only quote a weight where we have read it in a BERG manual. On this page that covers:

For every other model, ask us and we will check with BERG.

    Before you order

Measure first. Every tile shows the clear ground that model needs, and the size guide explains how to measure. If you would like a second opinion, a free garden consultation works from a couple of photos.

    Questions people ask

Is six old enough for a trampoline?+

BERG's manual does not recommend its garden trampolines for children under 6, so six is the earliest age we suggest one. BERG's rules still apply at any age: one user at a time, with an adult supervising.

What size trampoline suits a 6 to 8 year old?+

BERG gives no size by age, so this is our own starting point: a model with a safety net, up to 11ft (330cm). In practice the garden decides. An 11ft round needs 7.3 m of clear, level ground each way once BERG's 2 m on every side is added.

    Which go-kart for a seven year old?+

Seven is inside BERG's guide for all three frames: Buddy (3 to 8 years), Rally (4 to 12 years) and XL (5 years to adult). The Buddy guide ends at eight, so the Rally or XL will stay within its guide for longer. If your child is tall or small for their age, tell us their height.

Can two children jump at the same time?+

No. BERG's manual allows one user at a time on every size, because of the risk of a collision. A bigger trampoline does not change that.

Why does every trampoline on this page have a net?+

It is part of the rule we used for this age band. Every BERG trampoline on legs is sold with a safety net anyway. In-ground models are sold with or without one, and we have listed only the ones with. BERG's manual says to close the net entrance fully before jumping.

Does BERG give a weight limit for these trampolines?+

For some. We have read a maximum user weight in BERG's manual for 4 of the 17 models here, from 50 kg to 100 kg depending on size. For the others we do not hold a figure, so ask us before you order.

Do you put the trampoline up?+

We supply and deliver. A trampoline on legs is assembled from BERG's manual. For an in-ground one we can put you in touch with an independent installer, who quotes you directly.
