    Trampolines for medium gardens

A medium garden, on this site, has 7 to 8 m of clear ground on its longest side. 32 BERG trampolines fit that: the 11ft (330cm) and 12.5ft (380cm) round sizes, and the oval and rectangular models of about the same length.

Each one needs between 7.3 m and 7.8 m at its longest, counting the 2 m BERG wants clear on every side. Prices run from €569 to €1,639, delivered free.

    11ft to 12.5ft, on legs

Above ground, with the safety net in the price. Nothing is dug, and the trampoline can move with you if you change house. These start at €659.

    11ft to 12.5ft, in-ground

Set into the lawn with a low raised edge, sold with a safety net or without one. The trampoline is the same size, so the clear ground it needs is the same. An installer or landscaper does the digging and quotes you directly.

    FlatGround, level with the lawn

A FlatGround has no raised edge at all: the mat sits flush with the grass. In these sizes BERG supplies it without a net.

What counts as a medium garden

We sort every trampoline by one number: the longest side of the clear, level ground it needs. That is the trampoline's own length plus BERG's 2 m at each end. Up to 7 m is compact, 7 to 8 m is medium and anything over 8 m is large. It is a rule about the ground you can give to a trampoline, not about the size of the whole garden.

Width matters as much as length

The rule uses the longest side, so check the other direction too. A round trampoline needs the same distance both ways. An oval or a rectangle needs less across, which helps where a path, a shed or a flower bed takes a strip off the lawn. The tiles above give both figures for each model.

If you are on the edge of the band

With a shade under 7 m, the compact garden page has the sizes that fit. With more than 8 m, the large garden page opens up the 14ft round and the long ovals. The size guide explains how to measure, and in a free garden consultation we check your photos and measurements against BERG's clearances before you order.

    Questions people ask

How do I measure for a medium garden trampoline?+

Find the spot, then measure the level ground there in both directions, between the nearest fence, wall, hedge, shed or tree. You need the trampoline's length plus 4 m one way and its width plus 4 m the other. For the round 12.5ft that is 7.8 m each way. Then look up: BERG asks for 7 m clear overhead.

Should I go up from 11ft to 12.5ft?+

Only if the ground allows it. The 12.5ft is 50 cm wider, so it needs 7.8 m each way where the 11ft needs 7.3 m. If you have that with BERG's 2 m still clear on every side, the larger mat gives a growing child more room. If you would have to squeeze the clearance, stay with the 11ft.

Can a trampoline go on a sloping lawn?+

BERG trampolines are made for level ground. Measure only the part of the garden that is level, or that you are prepared to have levelled by a landscaper or builder. We do not give levelling advice ourselves.

Will it stay put in the wind?+

We advise anchoring any trampoline on legs. We sell two anchor kits for use on grass; they do not hold in a patio or gravel. BERG's advice before a heavy storm is to take off the padding and the safety net, and to check the anchors afterwards. An in-ground or FlatGround model sits low and catches far less wind.

Round, oval or rectangular in a medium garden?+

A round one needs a square of clear ground. If your level area is longer than it is wide, look at the 11ft, 7 x 11ft, 11 x 8ft oval and rectangular sizes on this page: they need less width for a similar length. Each tile shows the clear ground that model needs.

What user weight do these sizes take?+

BERG's manuals give a maximum user weight for some of them: BERG Favorit Regular 11ft, 100 kg; BERG Champion InGround 11ft, 100 kg; BERG Champion InGround 12.5ft, 110 kg. We do not hold a figure for the others, so ask us before you order if it matters. Whatever the size, BERG's rule is one person at a time.
