    BERG PlayBase climbing frames

The PlayBase is BERG's steel climbing frame: a run of monkey-bar rungs across the top, with swings, rings, nets and fitness kit hanging from carabiner points underneath. You choose a frame, then what goes on it.

    There are 4 frames from €999, 15 ready-made sets from €1,038 to €2,765, and 20 accessories from €29.

    PlayBase frames

The frame on its own, with nothing hanging from it. All four are 1 m deep and 2.45 m high; the width runs from 1.2m for the Wall to 4.9m for the Extra Large. The Wall fixes to a wall and the other 3 stand free.

    PlayBase sets

A frame and a group of accessories sold as one product. BERG's sets are the Swing, Family, Active, Sports, Peak and Ultimate. Each is sold on certain frames only, and the tile names the frame. Filter by price to shorten the list.

    Swings and hanging accessories

Seats, a nest swing, a trapeze and rings. Each clips to the carabiner points under the top of the frame. From €29.

    Climbing accessories

The climbing wall, the nets and the platform with its slide. The nets are sized to the frame, so match the letter to yours. From €219.

Fitness accessories: ages 14 and over

For teenagers and adults. BERG rates all of these for ages 14 and over. From €49.

    Sports accessories

A basketball hoop that fixes to the frame, and target nets sized for the Medium, Large and Extra Large. From €99.

    How to choose a PlayBase

Start with the frame, because it sets how much can hang at once. The Wall has 3 carabiner points, Medium has 4 carabiner points, Large has 6 carabiner points and Extra Large has 8 carabiner points. More points means more children busy at the same time, or more to swap between.

    What every frame shares

    • Steel, powder-coated over a zinc layer, in Black or Green. Nothing to treat or stain.
    • 1 m deep and 2.45 m high.
    • 400 kg maximum total load, for ages 3 and up.
    • Frame warranty of 10 years, 13 when registered with BERG.

    Frame alone, or a set

Accessories clip on and off, so a frame can change as the children do: swings now, a pull-up bar when they are teenagers. A set is the simple way to start. A bare frame with two or three accessories of your own choosing is the flexible way.

The PlayBase buying guide compares the frames and sets in full. We deliver the PlayBase and do not put it up: BERG's manual covers assembly. To check a frame against your garden or wall, book a free consultation.

    Questions people ask

How much is a BERG PlayBase in Ireland?+

Frames run from €999 for the Wall to €1,999 for the Extra Large. Ready-made sets are €1,038 to €2,765. Accessories start at €29. Every frame and set is over €300, so delivery is free.

    How big is a PlayBase?+

Every frame is 1 m deep and 2.45 m high. The widths are 1.2m for the Wall, 2.85m for the Medium, 3.8m for the Large and 4.9m for the Extra Large. BERG's manual gives the free space to leave around each one, and we check that with you in a consultation.

What ages is the PlayBase for?+

Ages 3 and up. The baby seat can be used from 9 months with an adult pushing. The fitness accessories, which are the pull-up bar, dip bar, boxing bag, fitness rope and resistance bands, are for ages 14 and over. The frame carries a maximum total load of 400 kg.

Do all accessories fit all frames?+

Most do. The hammock fits the Large frame only. The platform and slide fit the free-standing frames, not the Wall. The climbing nets and soccer goals come in M, L and XL to match the Medium, Large and Extra Large. Each accessory tile carries a note.

What do TL, TT and LL mean?+

They describe the two ends of a free-standing frame. TL is one tumble bar and one ladder, TT is two tumble bars and LL is two ladders. The Medium and Large frames are sold in all three, at different prices, which is why their price reads "from".

What is the warranty on the frame?+

BERG's manufacturer warranty on the PlayBase frame is 10 years, 13 when registered with BERG. Register it as soon as it arrives.

    Does the frame need concrete?+

No. The free-standing frames are held by base sections anchored in the ground, and no concrete is needed. The Wall is different: it fixes to a load-bearing brick or block wall, not to a fence, a timber panel or a hollow partition.
